Three Weeks Left: Learning Project Management

Happy Friday, friends!

Project management is the ability to oversee all aspects of a certain project or goal, and successfully complete tasks in order to achieve that large goal.

Employers are always looking for qualified graduates to be able to successfully manage a project and ensure everything is running smoothly. In this case, I am overseeing a large garden installation project with the help of volunteers, peers, and my mentor. I am learning how to fundraise using gofundme, promote the project on social media, communicate with local farms and businesses about delivery fees, herbs, seeds, flowers, and veggies, as well as critically reflect on my experiences, challenges, and goals. I am still in need of funds in order to complete this project. Donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/oliviavg

There are so many options!

We are getting down to the last 3 weeks of the project. I have been researching on Pinterest the best way to create a vertical herb garden.

I have found a design that I really like, and will start building it next weekend. The goal is to build a sturdy palette that is resistant to weather and rot.

I am still in need of volunteers for the garden installation. The 2 volunteer hours will benefit any resume or community service work. If you would like to sign up to volunteer for my project, click this link: http://www.govgnet.org/volunteer

The Snyder and Dickerson family has given me a comprehensive list of possible plants to incorporate into the garden on Saturday, April 8th-

Basil, oregano, cilantro, sage, thyme, mint. onions, garlic, chives, green onions. cucumbers, strawberries, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, and squash.

These are amazing options for a healthy and delicious summer garden. I am so excited to get the garden implemented and ready for harvest!

I hope you have enjoyed this Victory Garden update. It will be installation day before we know it! Thank you for all of your constant support. I could not do it without you all.

Talk with you soon!

Cheers,

Olivia
